
First produced in the 1960s, the Converse All Star Oxford shoes were co-designed by basketball player Chuck Taylor, who had previously made famous the Converse All Star Hi. With a canvas upper, the Converse All Star Oxford's have a protective rubber toe-cap that adds greater durability and strengthens the shoe. From here the lace-up runs up the front of the shoe, fastened with flat, white laces through five pairs of metal eyelets. The twin tongue of these canvas basketball shoes is branded with the 'Converse All Star' emblem and shows black and white stripes when folded down. Two breathable eyelets lie above the instep allowing air to circulate around the foot whle inside the the All Star Oxford is lined in black and white stripes. Lying on the Oxford's heel is the All Star branding and a thin black stripe follows the shoes cirumference.
